Sun Peaks Resort Map

Located halfway between the Pacific Ocean and the Rocky Mountains, the BC Interior, and of course Sun Peaks, is lucky to receive the dry, easy-to-ski powder that this region of the province is known for, as well as moderate winter temperatures, averaging only -10° Celsius.

Every winter, Sun Peaks welcomes thousands of guests from around the world to experience and enjoy its three mountains of terrain and charming, slopeside village. The vast and varied terrain at Sun Peaks provides 3678 acres (1488 hectares) of adventure, from dozens of gladed areas, to open bowls, steeps and moguls to rolling cruisers and of course a terrain park with three zones and a kids learning area. But the adventures don’t stop there, guests can choose from many other winter activities, including dog sledding, ice skating, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, tubing and more.

On the slopes, you may run into Olympic Gold Medalist and Athlete of the Century, Nancy Greene, who calls Sun Peaks home. She even takes guests on complimentary mountain tours most weekends… just check her schedule at the base of the chairlifts. Nancy isn’t the only Olympic athlete you could see on the slopes. The Austrian National Ski Team continues to use Sun Peaks as their early season North American training centre, and will return in November 2009 in preparation for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and Whistler.

The village at Sun Peaks is one of the most appealing features of this resort. Completely pedestrian and located at the base of the mountains, it offers the utmost convenience of ski-in, ski-out accommodation. Within a minute you can ski from a hotel lobby or your front door to the lifts. Lining the charming covered walkways are boutique shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and equipment rental shops. Even the eateries are ski-in, ski-out with slopeside views and lively atmospheres where guests and locals meet and mingle over pints of local brew.
