Often referred to as a hidden gem in the realm of Canadian ski resorts, Sun Peaks actually has the 3rd largest amount of skiable terrain in Canada, and 2nd largest amount in British Columbia at 3,678 acres! Talk about endless terrain to explore, from abundant glades, steeps and moguls, to alpine bowls, groomed cruisers and a Rockstar Energy Terrain Park.

Sun Peaks Resort Alpine Map

Sun Peaks Resort isn’t just a ski resort, it’s actually a four season alpine resort community with winter activities beyond skiing and snowboarding like dog sledding and snowshoeing just to name a few, and a full array of summer adventure, like downhill mountain biking, golfing, hiking and more.

Located in the Thompson Okanagan region of British Columbia, Canada, Sun Peaks is, by vehicle, a 45 minute drive from Kamloops, a 4.25 hour drive from Vancouver and 5.5 hour drive from Seattle, Washington. For regional and international access, you can get to Kamloops by plane, connecting through international gateway airports, such as Vancouver and Calgary.

Sitting between the Pacific Ocean and the Rocky Mountains, Sun Peaks is in a dry climate, lucky to receive easy-to-ski, champagne powder and moderate winter temperatures, averaging only -10° Celsius.

Every winter, Sun Peaks welcomes thousands of guests from around the world to experience and enjoy its three mountains of terrain and charming, slopeside village. The community of Sun Peaks was created with families in mind, and you’ll feel the comforts of home the both the amenities and the friendly nature of the locals that provide an outstanding level of service. There are over 35 restaurants, pubs, cafés, shops and rental outlets in the pedestrian, ski-through village, and a nightclub for those late night party goers!

Sun Peaks Village

Besides the outstanding terrain and snow, the village truly is one of the most appealing and memorable features. Completely pedestrian and located at the base of the mountains, it offers the utmost convenience of ski-in, ski-out accommodation. Within a minute you can ski from a hotel lobby or your front door to the lifts!

Back on the slopes, you may run into Olympic Gold Medalist and Athlete of the Century, Nancy Greene, who calls Sun Peaks home. She even takes guests on complimentary mountain tours most weekends. Nancy isn’t the only Olympic athlete you could see on the slopes. The Austrian National Ski Team continues to use Sun Peaks as their early season North American training centre.

Sun Peaks is proud to be a leader for environmental policies and certification. In April 2004, Sun Peaks was the first ski resort in North America to be certified under ISO 14001, the environmental management system (EMS) standard for the International Organisation for Standardisation.
